Can I apply by phone & get an instant decision?

I'm looking to apply for a credit card today. I've looked at http://www.moneysupermarket.com/credit-cards/ to help decide which one.

Do you know if I can apply by phone for any of these and get an instant decision? I don't mind if they take a week to actually set up the account and get a card to me, I just want to have a 100% confirmed answer from them straight away so that I know whether or not I'll have that credit available in the near future...

Yes normally if you apply by phone they will give you an instant decision unless they require some ID, but you'll still have to sign the credit agreement but you will not get the card within a week, I would give it a couple of weeks if accepted

Quite if you apply online you can sign online, too but if you apply over the phone there are extra delays caused by having to physically sign the agreement

Sorry, I mean that I wish I'd known that applying by phone means a longer wait as I've just applied by phone!

- I did get confirmation that I'd been approved but couldn't be told what limit they'd approved - that's something I have to sit and wait to find out...

I applied online for the Barclaycard Gold after being given an 80% chance of acceptance by the pre-application checker.
Card was in my hand after 5 days so very quick but didn't get PIN for a further 7 days
