Toaster Needs Higher Settings Than Use To ?

I have a 4 slice Tefal Avanti Deluxe Toaster which I've had just over 3 years but doesn't get used that much,maybe twice a week. The settings go 1-6 when I first used it setting 3 was fine but now I need it on nearly 6. It works on 2 sides so 1 dial for 2 slices and another for the other 2 slices and both sides have gone the same.
Any ideas - Is it slowly dieing

gosh were talking about parts in a toaster now! well, if its an expensive one then by all means check out where to buy new elements for it then there is the cost of installing the new ones, or it may be the thermostat (heat controller)
cost of labour and parts should be considered

I suggest that you have a look at the reviews on Amazon, seems lots of people have problems with this toaster! Most send them back or get a new toaster!

Thanks for the reply;) Can you point me to a link for the reviews on Amazon, I've been to the Amazon site,seen the 4 similar models and when i click on the Reviews it just gives me the Manufacturer's Description, no actual Reviews.
I've had this 3 years May just gone, probably too late to send back ? Isn't it ?
