But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Morning all!
After a bonkers financial day yesterday sorting evrything out with the bank and paying off my CC and 2 loans (one that I counted and the conservatory repayment that I didn't - sort of thought of this as part of the mortgage) its back down to earth today.
I've done a new budget taking into account my new situation and it doesn't look too bad - allows me to pay off the new arrangement with the bank with a kind of 3 for the price of 2 thing going on, live fairly comfortably (not extravagantly!) and have enough to save a bit and/or make overpayments. :j
Its a bit of a strange feeling seeing the CC paid off and in a little bit of credit and the direct debit list shrunk right down!
Anyway, back to reality and doing the DFW little things so I can stick to the budget and and make inroads faster than planned......- All food from stores
- Buy just 2 rolls for burgers tonight
- Walk dog for free exercise
- Do at least 2 hours school work
- Bath dog - didn't get round to it yesterday with all of the excitement
- Stay in and watch the soaps
- One load of washing and try to dry naturally indoors
- Do any surveys that come
- Check item I'm watching on ebay
- Post letter to loan company closing the account
- Phone CC company to reduce the daft credit limit (why do they keep putting it up?)
- Have already transferred my spending money for our minibreak (already paid for) in the lakes to a "holding" account so I don't spend it
- Book hotel for boxing night in Sept using quidco if possible
- Finish shopping list for tomorrow
0 -
Yipee - it's Friday!!
I've not done much this morning as my motivation has disappeared (if anyone finds it, please send it home to me)
So far I have:- made a lunch for work
- put phone on charge at work
- have dinner from stores
- have an NSD
And I'm determined to enjoy my weekend and NOT write a list of 50 housework jobs this week, although the house probably needs it. :mad:Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
