Housing benefit and council tax benefit are the only two that spring to mind, on the little info you have given us.*SIGH*

If sillsick then you can claim IB or ESA. It's more likely to be ESA which has replaced IB for new claimants.0

Employment and Support Allowance. Its the new 'sickness' benefit which replaced IB. Your employer should have given you an SSP1 to say you are no longer getting paid. This will help speed up your application if you make one.0 -
i am still on ssp at the moment. but dont think i have much longer of it left. so i am starting to look into other options and see what i can do.
unfortunately no idea how long i am going to be off for

Hi VK-2008
Don't forget that you can't claim Employment & Support allowance and get SSP at the same time.
If you aren't getting SSP anymore NASA is correct you will need an SSP1 from your employer to send in with your claim.0 -
yeah i googled a wee bit into it there, just never knew where to start. just trying to see what direction to go in next. i think i have another 6 weeks of SSP left:A VK :A0

If SSP is coming to an end you can still make your claim to ESA now. It will be a claim in advance but will start paying from the day after your SSP ends. Probably better to do it that way than to wait until after it runs out.0

Hi, my partner has this problem at the moment. He Has been unable to work since car accident in February and is self employed. Now the insurance told him that, as he will be claiming loss of earnings from the other drivers insurance (he has been found guilty in court) then if he claims from any other source then he will need to repay it when he gets his loss of earnings through. So since accident we havent claimed anything. Its tough but better in the long run.
Are you claiming loss of earnings from your accident0 -
Hi,
My daughter has been working weekends for a large Frozen food company for two years. She has injured her wrist tendon and has been signed off work for the past month. Even though we have calculated that her average pay over the 8 weeks worked before she was sick is over the guideline £97 per week and she has been paying national insurance, she has still not received any sick pay. She has asked her employers about this on numerous occasions but they are really dragging it out - saying they're not sure if she's eligible or not. What should we do?0
