Sold some Tesco Vouchers....Need Help

I just sold some Tesco Clubcard Vouchers and they want them converted to MFI....When i went to do it, it says

"mfi Tokens are not transferable and will be printed with the name shown on your Clubcard Vouchers"

I haven't sold these before and they total $133 when converted. I have emailed them and told them what's qouted on the website.

What shall i do now ? What if they want a refund ? Shall i give one ? They did buy these fair and square and i don't really want to refund.

They did email me prior to paying saying " Please could you kindly convert these to MFI vouchers stating both names on your conversion order eg. XXXXXX & ZZZZZZZ for ease of use - I will be using cash to top up my purchases."

Lost and confused

To be honest, MFI don't care whose name is on the vouchers. If they did have a problem, you could always say you were an in-law or something. I sold some vouchers, transferred them to MFI vouchers and there was no problem for my buyer.
  • I wish I'd known that before I bought bedroom furniture from MFI. The total was £1200 and I used £395 of Clubcard Deals.

I'd be careful in future. I have been asked for ID in a couple of shops when using clubcard vouchers. Some shops are strict about vouchers only being used by the person with the clubcard.

If they definitely still want the MFI vouchers, you can only convert them in your surname so you'll just have to make sure your buyer is aware of that.

If the worst came to the worst and they were refused use of the vouchers at MFI, they would have to return them to you, and you could ask Tesco to swap them for another Deal for you (if you want to be seen as a helpful seller that is!).

But then you'd incur another 2 lots of postage so I guess you could explain all this to your buyer now and say any additional postage after the sale is complete would have to be paid by them, if it comes to it. Leave the ball in their court, are they still happy for you to convert to MFI Deals bearing this in mind?

BTW, most sellers of Clubcard vouchers state that MFI, Goldsmiths and Holiday Deals are not usually transferable due to the surname on them, etc. If you sell any again this would cover you somewhat.

  • Thanks everyone. The buyer has accepted that the MFI vouchers will be in my name and just asked me to say that it was ok for them to use them if asked. So the ball is in their court now.
