Car insurance cooling off period

Hi,

I bought my car insurance a month ago for £270. I then decided to
replace my car with another vehicle. I phoned my insurers and asked
them to transfer the policy to my new vehicle. There was an additional
charge of £300. So in total, I paid £570

The original policy had a 14 day cooling off period, but does the cooling
off period apply to the additional charge of £300?

Can I cancel this policy and get back the £300?

Not under the cooling off period (which only applied to the first 14 days). Then your policy/contract was formed. You used the terms of the policy to change over the car you originally covered. This wasn't then another policy with a new cooling off period.

You can cancel the policy, but it would be under the terms of a normal mid term cancellation.
