Do I need my passport Luton to Aberdeen?

Options
Just to double check please. I am travelling next week - easy jet flight from Luton to Aberdeen.

Website just says photo ID but after I have booked confirmation email says ID and passport?

My passport has been sent away as I have to get a visa for another trip I have next week.

Have tried calling Easy Jet but constantly engaged.

Thanks

The BBC local radion consumer prog here, mentioned this several times lately, for those flying Ryanair to Ireland, it WAS needed.

Not sure easyjet rules, for Scotland.

Travelling within the UK, Eire, Channel Islands and Isle of Man there are no passport requirements. However to check the identity of the person you will normally be required to have a proof of ID.

As to what ID is required it is really up to the airline. Normally for UK flights a photo ID (i.e. driving licence) will suffice. However the policy is really up to the airline you are travelling with.

I often fly from Jersey back to the UK, and I hardly ever even am asked to show any ID. However to be on the safe side I have my driving licence with me. There is no requirement for me to have my passport with me when I travel with either BA or Fly Be. However the airline you take going to Scotland my require you to have your passport.

Best advice, check with the airline.

  • You shouldn't need a passport just a photo ID, BUT this is Easyjet we're talking about here and if you've seen the TV show you know how understanding and helpful(!) thay can be!!!!!
  • A few years ago, as shown on "airline", they let someone travel with a brand new CostCo card (they even filmed them going to CostCo to get it made)!!

I very much doubt you'll get away with it now - but a drivers license should be OK for UK flights (check their website).
  • Easyjet doesn't make it easy to find out what is valid Photo Id, but I've found this NEWS item from 2004. What the current rules are I haven't the foggiest, though Easyjet will tell you if you dial their 10ppm number & wait for an hour
