hello I am new on here,
I had just posted this over from another forum, who someone has kindly advised me to do..
I have stupidly got myself in a huge mess with payday loans, early in the year we were borrowing money 1st Quickquid, then payday uk now Wonga, I just cant beleive how SILLY SILLY we have been.
I got in a vicious (sorry spelling) circle borrowing paying off come payday then borrowing again, then finally decided this has had to stop. I ended up cancelling my bank card, started paying them back bit by bit each month,,, only now are we managing with our wages.
Payday uk have been okay agreeing 10month
Quickquid only paying 5pound they have not formally agreed but this is what I am sending them
Wonga - they just impossible to get through to, i am sending chq only affording 5pound a month.. this is only what i can afford. I am going to pass this onto a financial management end of this month, but i am SO worried that this company will send bail lifts it has got me chewed and scared about it...
can anyone give me advise, apart from what i already know about been daft to get involved in the first place.
Thank you

Hi you are not alone with these Payday loan build ups, I have been there myself and all with the same companies. I found Payday UK great and understanding, but Quickquid and Wonga......Argh.
You have done the right thing with cancelling your cards and setting up payment plans.
We have yet to have any problems with people at the door or Bailiffs, they all went onto Debt Collectors Agencies who all accepted our DMP arrangement of £5 per month, so I wouldn't worry about that until and if it would happen, which, if you are quick to get in touch with anyone (by letter) to arrange payment plans for them all, it shouldn't happen as long as you keep up with the arrangements.0 -
Hi Summer, Until someone with more experience comes along I can only suggest you try the search threads facility on the Forum search button on the green bar. There has been a lot posted on here about WONGA, the answers you need are already on here if you can find them. I will have a fast look and if I can find the relevant ones I will come back and post the links.

Hi, just done a fast search. There is a lot on Wonga, but nothing I can find at the moment that is of much help. All I can suggest is prepare a Statement of Affairs SOA. there is help here do do it. Send it to them showing that this is the most you can offer each month. They have to go to the courts before they can send bailiffs, and the court won't order you to pay more than you can afford.
You are not the only one to make a similar post today, the regulars for some reason are less than sympathetic. If Anyone gets too heavy with you, IF YOU DON'T PRESS THE ABUSE BUTTON, HANDYMAN WILL.

I agree, its full of abuse today on Payday loan posters. They need to come here rather than the loans forum.0 -

[/QUOTECourt action would help you, interest would stop a court would only make you pay what you could reasonablly afford after taking out living expenses , i would offer them one pound a month token payment in the hope they would take me to court , its about time these rotten companies were stopped from preying on people who have to use them as they have nowhere else to turn .GRADUATED FIRST CLASS WITH HONORS FROM THE SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS RECOMENDED READ IF BY RUDYARD KIPLING0 -

Note the use of the word MAY. Although they can add costs, it will cost them almost as much again as the origanal debt to take this to court /make you bankrupt. If you can't pay now, how can you pay double.
Send a copy of your origanal offer by recorded delivery and keep a copy.
Request all communication is in writing so if it ever gets to court you have proof that you did your best to reach an agreement.
As WRINKLES says court action would only help you. This is a mind game, they are praying on your ignorance. But your not ignorant any more, cos you have the good folks here to help. We don't always get it right as individuals, but with 8 million members if you follow the crowd you won't go far wrong.
Cheers Summer. Cheers All others:A handy.Mother Nature Don't Draw Straight lines, We are Broken Moulds in Life's Grand Design, We look a Mess but we're doing fine,
