You win masterflumps!!! Your comments have been very harsh and unjust. I am a new user to this site, I posted a rant about my situation (Yes, I am fully aware everyone is able to read this and have an opinion) but you have been very critical even though I have not denied getting into trouble and not refused to pay anything. I think you missed the point of my message.

By the way there are a lot of people out there that have been through a similar situation with this company. All you need to do is search on the internet and you will see!!! My main aim was to highlight the treatment they give you should you have any difficulties paying the loan....but well done!!!....Anyone going through a similar situation will no longer be able to gain comfort knowing they are not the only one!!!!

its not about winning

rest assured you have acheived something though, maybe slightly different to your aim, but, people may see how important it is to pay back the loan

and your earlier assumption that i have never been in this situation is so far away from the truth, i actually nearly lost my house becasue of my debts and a rediculous IVA i went into blindly, if only i had looked for advice back then................however i am on the other side of it now and rebuilding my credit and i can honestly say i blame no one but myself for the thousands of pounds worth of charges accumul;ated from littlewoods, next, capital one, royal bank of scotland, vertbaudet, studio, egg, sainsburys, future loans etc etc need i go on
• Please remeber the site etiquette rules guys!!!

Please be sensitive : This may be a web forum, but you’re still talking to other human beings. Repeatedly or harshly saying someone’s wrong, especially on boards like DebtFreeWannabe, Bankruptcy or Benefits, can lead to upset.

We’re proud that many people whose financial problems exacerbate mental health issues seek help in the forum, but this means you may be berating someone who’s clinically depressed. Please think twice before posting judgmental comments.

Don't feed the trolls : Sadly the web has a habit of throwing up a very small but vocal number of trolls, people who are nasty or contrary just to get a rise out of you. If someone’s doing this, simply don’t reply, just report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com. If you get involved and fling mud back, you risk being barred from using the forum too.
• Thanks masterflumps but unfortunately it's too little too late, I have just reported your comments as per the guidlines in my previous post....!!
• you reported my comments AFTER deleting the OP?

Didn't see your post but post over on the debt free wanabee section, if you are struggling to pay back a debt. Lots of people over there to give advice.

Post up a SOA (statement of affairs) if you like for support/advice, on upping your income/reducing your outgoings etc..

They may be able to help out with some templated letters to contact wonga etc about repayments.

Start again on this site by posting on the debt free wanabee section, but instead of ranting and slagging off companies, just explain your situation.
• I have used Wonga five times now, and they've really been a good help to me. They're my only option given that I don't have a credit card, but I do think there are a few things that need bearing in mind.

Don't use them unless you have an income, things will turn really bad, really quickly unless you know that one way or another you'll get that money together with ease. i.e. full time job

Get the loan for as long as possible, then pay it off as soon as you can using the early option. It's not going to cost you any more to pay it off early so give yourself the safety barrier and stay in control.

If you can, get a credit card instead, and pay it off in full every month.

Stick to these rules, and Wonga is a useful tool. Still a poor mans alternative to a CC though.

does nobody understand interest rates on here?
2600% seems extortionate if you believe the usual media sensationalism
on a large sums over a long period of time it is a disgusting rate of interest
on £50 over a few weeks it isn't
do the math
would you loan out silly little sums of money for a few weeks to anybody as a business venture at 5%?
work out your return on lending me £100 for two weeks at 5% pa , its not worth the paperwork it would entail
i'm not a fan of loan sharks in any way but companies like these do have a place i our society or they wouldn't exist would they?

If they take business away from loan sharks, then these companies aren't all bad, surely?

I haven't used one (yet, lol) but from what people are saying, it seems that they're okay if used correctly.

Smilingnow, good luck in clearing your debt, but does seem to me as if you've over-reacted a little in this thread.

Best of luck guys.
• I hope the report on Masterlumps is competely ignored by Admin as the OP is out of line and trying to abuse the process just because he/she didn't like the response.

I don't always like the responses on here when they are unjustly brusque or harsh but nothing Masterlumps wrote warrants an abuse warning. If the OP wants a touchy feely site that will just validate his/her mistakes I suggest a Hello Kitty page or one with ponies prancing about.

thank you, i appreciate that - i have just reread the post and still dont see the abuse. unfortunately the OP deleted the original post so it is nigh on impossible to correctly judge ANY of the responses on the thread now. but i do stand by what i said, its just another case of loanee blaming loan company for loanee not sticking by arrangement and for that reason i think it is unfair to say wonga are at fault imo
