  • Isn't the APR something ridiculous like 2600%?

I know it doesn't help you at this point, but I'd stay away from any payday loans mate!
  • Yeah I know.....crazy interest!!! Thanks for the reply and I will definately think twice in the future. I still think this company should be closed down though given the comments on some of the site forums I have browsed through tonight!!!
  • i think its a shame that you titled your post 'wonga are a disgrace' yes the apr/charges etc are extortionate (but beggars cant be choosers as they say, and its peole that dont pay, like yourself, who drive that upward even more), but, wonga, used correctly ie: borrow money and pay it back as per agreement, are actually not a bad lender. money arrives quickly, you see exactly what you are paying, they even give you the option to pay early, so i wouldnt say they are a disgrace. and no, i do not work for wonga, neither would i ever recommend a pay day loan, but i have used them twice, once to borrow £50 and the second time £150, i then uppped the £150 by another £200 a few days later, but i paid each loan the following week (4 days first time round) and had no problems

    Debt-free and Proud!
I agree Masterlumps. You have to keep your promises with loan companies. They agree to lend and you agree to pay it back.

    Finally debt free 14/12/12:beer:
  • I appreciate your reply masterclumps and unfortunately some things are out of our control, but the way they have conducted their business towards me is a disgrace!!! Fortunately for you, you have never been in this situation and I hope you never do!
  • can I just add that I have not refused to pay and I have every intention of clearing this debt!

I have used them a couple of times. Got the money quickly and paid back earlier than the promise date.

    Very helpful if used properly.

Your problem is that you didn't abide to the simple terms and conditions, not really Wonga's fault that, is it?
  • Wonga are right about one thing it is their debt not DAL.
If they do not want to engage with a third party about it, it is their perogative.

I don't believe I'm defending Wonga here but IMO OP is totally wrong with what he has written.

You win masterflumps!!! Your comments have been very harsh and unjust. I am a new user to this site, I posted a rant about my situation (Yes, I am fully aware everyone is able to read this and have an opinion) but you have been very critical even though I have not denied getting into trouble and not refused to pay anything. I think you missed the point of my message.

By the way there are a lot of people out there that have been through a similar situation with this company. All you need to do is search on the internet and you will see!!! My main aim was to highlight the treatment they give you should you have any difficulties paying the loan....but well done!!!....Anyone going through a similar situation will no longer be able to gain comfort knowing they are not the only one!!!!
