How do I clean a sieve? (Properly!)

Try holding the sieve upside down and rinsing it under the tap.0

Thanks for your suggestions- It does look like I need a dishwasher (my current one works all week and only washes up at the weekend...!)
I'll be trying the shower trick though- love the mental image that created.
1sttimer- have you tried steaming your rice? Rinse it raw, cover in boiling water to a depth of 1cm above the rice (if that makes sense), boil furiously for 5 minutes then remove from the heat. The rice continues to cook in the steam, with no need to drain. I started using this method for biryanis, found it successful, and do it all the time.
I'm hungry for rice now, yum! They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.
