I've got the magazine & as i said yesterday the correct answet is any thing except tomatoes so you can choose from hazlenuts, limes, or bananas as they are all used in hestons eaton mess...

Hi Argamemnon - I don't think you can just pick any. OP says "All you have to do is solve our prize crossword on page 19 of this week's issue of Waitrose Weekend and the shaded squares will spell out the prize word, which is an ingredient from Heston's banana Eton mess."

In fact it is probably enough to know how many shaded squares they are in the crossword - 7 for bananas etc

That's the point though isn't it.Without a copy of the mag the number of squares is not known.Hence we are waiting for someone to get a copy.
