Well that ruined that idea :(

Thought I'd sell some books on Amazon as I've been told it works out better than Ebay but they need to validate me with a credit card number and expiry date.Well the number isn't a problem as I can get that off the statements but I cut all my cards up so don't have an expiry date :( Why is everything so difficult? :(

I really feel for you hon. There's nothing more frustrating than positively doing something to sort out your finances, and getting stung by something you hadn't even thought of!

However they may be one slight possibility. Do you have any credit card receipts. Would it be worth looking through those to see if they have any expiry dates on. I don't know if they do but it might be worth a try.
  • OMG you are such a star!!I looked through my old petrol receipts and there is just one that has an expiry date on it-just have to match it up with the credit card now-thank you so much!!!

Good luck from me too, I started on May 22nd and to date I have sold 22 books. Just books from around the house and old uni books. Please be careful with larger books and hardback as you may be more in postage than you make. I never bother to list at 1 pence as I don't want to fork out for expensive postage.

Well it was worth a try. In the longer term it might be useful to get another card, even if you don't use it. Either that or try and find some other means of selling your books.
  • Can you not sign up with a debit card.

I know this is not really on but is there no friend or relative who would let you use their card, I cannot even remember having to enter my credit card as all they do is pay me into my bank account. THe only time I can see you need a credit card would be if you need to issue a refund and Amazon has already paid you. Try the Amazon thread on the other board so you can give it a go, you might even enjoy doing it - I acually do
