even the most picky of jobseekers would be sending more than that a day. more like 10 a day!

im not suprised she spoke to you like that. that is shameful. You clearly arent trying. with all those job sites out there u only manage 2 a fortnight?! shocking.

    Maybe the OP is depressed.

Maybe he has health issues / other issues that we don't know about.

There really is no need for rudeness, from either the JCP advisor or the ill mannered few on here.

Chamley - Good Luck with your job search.

    All the best,

    Sim.

As for cv's, a friends colleague's daughter works as a temp for several large companies. She tells me it is pretty much standard practice to shred any prospective cv's, and delete any emails enquiring about jobs. Apparently a lot of firms are getting the ar5e over the amount of time being tied-up processing prospective job applications. That's why you don't get a reply.

this would f**** up what certain know it alls on this site say. they say you should phone companies up in the period after you have applied to them to find out how your application is going. well its a waste of time doing that if they shred them on arrival isnt it. i wonder what the know it alls have to say about that.

Chamley, you may want to try photocopying your cv instead of writing it out by hand each time, then you might get more than one done a week.

actually printing out an original is the best way to go as photo copies can suffer in quality, especially over a period of time.

Probably that Patman said they shred CVs, not applications. Big difference.

Personally, I never send out unsolicited CVs, I think it just makes me a nuisance to the employer and I've never heard of anyone getting a job that way. I did always have my applications in within 24 hours or less of a job being advertised. Constantly checking job sites for new ads is probably a better use of time than sending out endless CVs to people who don't want them.

the majority of the jobs i have had have been from spec applications. i know what you mean by shred cvs not applications but really sending a cv on spec is still an application. the people i am talking about are those who recently said to me that i should phone up every single company i send a cv to. alot of other know it alls agreed with that view as well.

Maybe, maybe not but from the facts given the OP has only done 2 CV's in 2 weeks.

So.....OP why have you only done 2 and do you think that is adequate enough?
The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

4 people on the ignore list....Bliss!
