Should have added the following to my previous posting:

If you cannot use a PIN and find signing your name difficult e.g. because you have a physical disability, or you get flustered when trying to write in public and it never looks the same, you can ask the bank or credit card company to agree to you using a signature stamp. This is a rubber stamp with of your signature, and you are given an official letter confirming that you are entitled to use it.

    Further details here.

Yes you would need to carry your Signature Stamp or i(f you opt for Thumbprinting) Inkless pad around with you.

I'd contact ARC (click here) . They should be able to point you in the right direction.

I use my Thumbprint for ALL my Visa/MasterCard transactions where a signature is required. (click here).

    Hope this helps.

Hiya, I get very shaky hands when signing stuff and filling in forms so now I just use my initials (I have 5 of them though) for my sig. A signature doesnt have to be your name spelt out on the card. Hope this helps and ignore comments like the previous posters. ;)
    I love this site
  • Hello All

    Great News!

Just got my replacement M&S and more credit card and I can actually sign the back of the card- there must have been something wrong with the first card.

Do I need to activate my new card? although it has the same account number on etc

    Thanks all

yup - as it will be a different Card Number on the front!

Plus, never hurts to phone a freephone number & have a chat with an activation person - they are always nice & polite!
