XP wont acknowledge subsequent CD/DVDs

Hi
If I insert a CD or DVD into my DVD writer on my PC (running XP) it reads it fine, the volume name displays in explorer okay. If I insert another disc is doesn't refresh. If I double click on the drive it will show the contents on the new disc, but the volume name doesn't change.
The reason this is causing a problem is iTunes wont reconise the disc without a reboot. Is there some setting somewhere that I've changed and forgotten about?

Yeah I did try this before posting Google came up with plenty on not reading the drive (cable issues etc) or not reading any disc, but nothing on my problem. It's not an iTunes specific problem, it just doesn't bother me in other applications.0 -

Well, if you feel its not software specific delete it in device manager and re boot your computer let the wizard find and re install it.

Mark's Sysinternals Blog: Sony, Rootkits and Digital Rights ...Question is this. Disabling Autorun on one's CD/DVD roms are not the best: the drive does not refresh when inserting a new disc. (No System refresh trigger) ...
