That's what a the called journalist said to me. I tried to put her right but she put the phone down.
That car park is next for MY ticketing.

Mobilise must be so proud of themselves over this!0 -
In many instances it is a condition of the planning permission for these retail parks that free parking is supplied. So I recommend that any interested person checks the initial planning permission for such a clause and also looks for any variation to that permission.
I would point out to interested readers that should the car park be used to generate revenue then it is likely that the appropriate business rate rate should be paid for the land. This rate will exceed that paid for a free parking area. The Rating List can be viewed here: http://ratinglists.voa.gov.uk/irl2k5/index.jsp
Naturally any civic minded person would be within their rights and their duty to report on land which was being used outside its planning permission or upon land which was underrated.0 -

I rang mobilise up today to advise them of what had happened, i got asked why it had happened !! How the hell do i know? She then said she will look into it as you should not believe what is printed in local papers! Basically i was told they got into bed with UKCPS as they are a charity and need all the money they can get and PPC companies are now realising that people are not paying and there will be legislation soon regarding going down the clamping route. Ring them and ask them, i did.
UKCPS should be done under the DDA. If a member of my family were on it, they would be.
The woman i spoke to said it will be passed to the CEO. I was even asked what have i got against private parking companies!
Do you know you can contact Mobilise through e mail? I sent them the link, not sure if others would like to though. Phone numbers are on there too.0 -
I have just checked my e mails and i have received a reply from Mobilise.
I won't say what they wrote but just keep checking The Huddersfield Examiner for the next few days or so. Oh and don't believe what is written in a "local rag" !
Who the hell do PPC's think they are? Stick someone on minimum wage traipsing round a car park all day with a Hi Viz vest on and they think they are judge and jury.
They are not.
Their business model is falling faster than the Berlin Wall and they do not like it one bit. Well damn well serves them right. How many millions have they scammed out of people over the years, well it's obviously beginning to hurt them. Tough.
I can be identified by phone calls i have made and writing on forums also my number plate written down but i honestly do not give a damn. They have to be stopped from literally ripping people off. The day is not far off when they will be stopped or go bust.
They make me sick.0 -
I have spoken to the taxi company concerned and i am awaiting a call back from them tomorrow. I wish i hadn't let my taxi badge lapse because i would drive the bus in there for them.
Obviously i have got too much time on my hands, but, if people are not prepared to stand up and be counted where will we be?
So called journalists telling me a complete pile of crap and that they, the PPC's, can "fine" you really did get my back up.
This is not going to be the end of it with this particular car park.
imagine how that old guy felt when he could not get off the bus to get his compost and now will have to get a taxi on his own, just what perverse pleasure does the imbecile who told them to go away get from it?
I am bloody seething, well we shall see what happens soon.0 -

Coblcris, that is very very interesting indeed. Any idea how you can get to see the planning permission at all?0 -

Often you will find press articles and relevant papers via google.
Councils keep minutes on-line in many cases.
Ultimately the council will have it, either to hand or in the archive.
You may want to pre-arm yourself with details gleaned from the Internet first. As many of us know there is an abundance of councils who need all the help they can get.
A landowner facing higher rates may think twice depending upon how much the increased rate if offset by revenue.
If the planning permission is based on free parking then the impact can be more severe.0 -
I guess "fine" is more of an emotive word and better for journalism. Sadly it's not so good for getting the reality of the invoices across to the public. I would hope more people did not pay them if the media described them for what they were. Suppose you have to be a self-centred arrogant ignorant sod to be a journalist anyway.I actually rang the reporter up yesterday to put her right regarding classing these things has fines. They're probably more ignorant and arrogant than the journalists! Can you not contact the Editor of the paper?0
