i'm not going to bother with china, the cons heavily out weigh the pros, thanks ladies for all your help.
i will now start looking around charity shops with my neice, and hopefully find a special dress for a special girlShe LEFT me, she LIED, and she made me foot the BILL ! :mad:0 -
The old rules have been around for a simple reason - they are the rules that still work...
if it looks like it's too good to be true then it probably is....
Have a look in your local paper's classifieds, and online in gumtree etc.
Even if you spend a bit more getting it adjusted you'll know what you're getting for your money.
I thought most of our clothes were made in Morocco and India, I know jeans and tee shirts tend to be.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

you mention india-well thats got me thinking, do you reckon i can go to their tailors in a predomiantely asian area like green street and show them a pic for her dress and get them to sew it?
their outfits all have jewels and things which are lovely and really cheap, i remember oing green street when i was youngerShe LEFT me, she LIED, and she made me foot the BILL ! :mad:0 -

I was at a wedding reception recently and the bride had ordered from a chinese website, four words, _____ in the ___ (trying not to attract spam) The body of the dress was see through at the sides and back, the bust gaped, a lot, it was a MSE wedding (similar budget to you OP) and she was happy enough with the dress but I only saw her on the day, no idea of the ordering etc. The other thing was the boning, has anyone ever bought a corset from la senza? There's like plastic down the sides and it isn't for any structure or actual boning more just to give a shape, once you've got a person in it the shape changes. Just my opinion.
Re ebay for a dress, check out sites like fatfingers you type in what you want and it searches ebay for any spelling mistakes, you sometimes get real bargains! Also try and find dresses that end on a wednesday morning or such like, lots of people will be at work so can't do a last minute bidding war!!0 -

i have hired my wedding dress for £75, perhaps that would solve your daughters problem? try prom dress shops, and some bridal shops will hire too.
