New 'I've entered' button!

It's certainly a nice idea but I hope that it won't invalidate the thanks button. i.e. lead to double entries into competitions and also end up with people not bothering to thank the generous poster who shared the comp with us in the first place.
Leave things as they are I say.if you don't have anything nice to say, keep schtum.

I too am another body for the "I like it" camp, a button like that, that shows on the main board (like the subscription button does now) would speed up everyones entries no end.
Especially for those of us on the end of t'internet line, like me, whose broadband speed never really gets above 1Mbps:mad:, despite all the promises:rotfl:.
:rotfl: I know exactly what you mean, except, at 1Mb yours is over twice as fast as mine!! (It's 0.4Mb!!!!) 1Mb for me would be soooo fast!!! :rotfl:0 -

I don't think this would happen, at the moment a lot of us click thanks and then subscribe to the comp (to get the indication that we've entered on the main forum page, so we don't have to open it again once we've entered, which takes a lot more clicks than the new button will!) So I'm sure that people will click on both buttons as it only takes a few seconds!
It's a good idea like people have mentioned if it could automatically thank on the first post as well, but I'm not sure if it's possible for MSE to implement that?
One thing I thought of after I posted yesterday, you know the threads where it's updated each day with the new answer and link, would the rest of the thread work the same as it does now, ie. with the thanks to click so that you know you've entered the ones further down in the thread?
Thanks again, can't wait for this to be implemented, it's going to be soooo good!!!:D:D:D

Great idea, maybe a way around the worry of people not being thanked would be to keep the thanks button but have clicking on thanks show an entered indication on the main board, as the proposed new entered button would?0

YES, YES, YES.
yup, another fan of the button here.
I got excited and thought it was here already and was frantically looking for it, then I read the post properly and saw it was ony a advance notification about it.
Can't wait for it.[FONT="]

I think it sounds a great idea
- would be good if the IT techies could merge the 'thanks' and the 'I've entered button'. Cos I always like to say my thanks to everyone that posts. But being a 50++++ oldie I need all the help I can get and I'm worried I would forget one or t'other!! (2 second memory and dwindling!!!):rotfl::rotfl:

Yes please - love the thinking behind this0

i have recently been thinking that some kind of indication next to the envelope (on far left)would be brilliant so that a quick scan would help you see what you've already entered, without having to click on the post. I am always re-opening posts I've already entered! it's a great site and an 'entered 'button would make it even better.0
