Morning all.............

right so ive spent the last 2 months or so waiting for welcome finance to get back to me re my PPI.
I get a letter the other day saying -
"as we were not involved in any policy sale that may have been carried out by the broker , i cannot answer your complaint."
and then refer me to ACF car finance ltd.
Now ive never even herd of these jokers , is this right or are they fobbing me off ??
Should i contact the FOS now or start all over again with this ACF lot ??
any help would be much obliged !

    Hi there

If you used a broker to find you a loan, then its correct that you pursue them, even though your agreement/documents would be that of the lenders, it was ACF according to them that set up your loan.

I would write to ACF, to make sure they are dealing with your complaint, if you do not have the contact details, then you have the right to ask for these from Welcome finance.
    Good luck.;)

I had a PPI claim of ACF, it was there salesman who sold us the car and did not at anytime advise PPI was optional, they first declined and reffered us to Welcome but they were only the broker and therefore we pursued this with ACF and finally after 8 weeks they made agreement to refund us £2900 about 75% of PPI paid. But intially they only made a goodwill offer of £1000.
And l must say it was in our bank account in 3 days after we accepted.
Be patient with ACF and dont give up as if you do have a case of there salesman selling this to you they will pay out.

Thanks for that info, this is invaluable to others who are making claims with certain institutions x
