Yup!! I am planning to have a Christmas party before M and I go home for the holidays and I would like my potatoes to be ready for that. They are Charlotte potatoes.

As for the fuchsia - my friend gave it to me unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon along with a begonia and 2 herb plants! She singlehandedly doubled my garden! :)

Fantastic! We have a few brussel sprout plants so might have a few of them ready for Christmas dinner :D

Oh get you! Fancy pants companion planting eh :D We're still waiting for pics....we need garden pics.

I've got my first ripe(ish) tomato, I keep lovingly stroking it...just wish all the others would hurry up.

Thanks Pooky :) I can give a "before" pic of it - but I haven't taken any "during" ones yet!

Hmmm, I'm not sure how to put a photo on though!

Also - yay for the tomato! :T I spent about half an hour taking pictures of my friend's GORGEOUS tomatoes on Sunday. She gave me a bag of them and they are without doubt the best tomatoes I have ever tasted (probably because I've always had supermarket c*ap before!)

That's the problem with home grown stuff, it tastes so nice it's hard to resist it...I walk out to hang the washing out, pick a runner bean to munch on whilst I'm mooching around. I don't think half this years strawberries made it into the house.....the tomatoes are lovely straight from the plant and still warm from the sun.

    Are you on FB Jo?

Would the owner not be able to cover you? What's would normally happen if you were ill and couldn't open up? Hope you can work something out.

  • Sal, oh no you poor thing. I hope you'll be able to re-arrange things with no problem at all.

Pooky, Jo and Red, I love home grown stuff. I remember as a child doing quality control on the peas at my grandparents house! :D

You can't beat picking a corn on the cob, cooking it and then covering it in butter!

I've had a text to say I'm sorting out the kitchen! EKKK, I#ve got a feeling lots of things will be thrown away.

Nope I asked her and she said, Im away that weekend, see if other person can cover you. Her words were I thought you said you were ok to do that saturday. (I probably did, but id forgotten as its in the middle of my 3 weeks holiday and the only day I am due to work)

If I were sick god knows what she would do...this is the time that really bugs me, she'd have to do it then...or shut the shop for the day

    Gorgeous wedding photos Jo! :D

LMC - I love fresh corn.....yums.....I like to cut it into 3 chunks, par boil for a couple of mins then put on an oven tray, a sprinkle of salt and chilli flakes, a small knob of butter and a drizzle of olive oil and roast for 15/20 mins.
