  • It's the Ektorp 3 seater. Also got the reclining armchair to match which is sooo relaxing although it was a challenge to get in the car!
    It's flipping thundering again!

We spent £1000 on a leather corner unit and storage stool from Dfs on their pay nothing for 12 months then interest free credit for up to 4 years. We paid it off over 12 months. Its soooooo comfy and sooooo worth the money.

Downside is finding a house with a living room big enough/configured right to fit it:cool:

Sally, I agree about sofa's. I got a grant of £200 to get one, I got one for £250 from Tesco and it's horrible, the cushions have sunk so you can feel the frame when you sit on it, and they're sewn in so can't be plumped up. And it's a few cm shorter than it said on the description. So I'm saving up for a new one. I've seen a fab one at about 3k, but I'll only be able to afford £600, which to me is luxury!

Tests went fine, but I've been asleep since.

See now I would have kept a couple rashers out for quality control...

ahh... they are in vacuum sealed packets. Though i might go to the local butcher next week for some. It's much nicer than supermarket bacon - none of the icky white stuff when it's cooking.

We get our bacon from Costco and its great - no watery white rubbish and it is actually tasty.

Doesn't compare to the lush black bacon we get at Mum & Dad's though

I had some cheapy sofas for 7 years before they finally gave up the ghost....luckily I picked up 2 second hands ones in our local BHF chairty shop - very comfy with feather cushions...once I'd had them cleaned they looked like new - bargin at £300.

It might be worth a cheapy make do one for now and save up until you can get exactly what you want....also once you've lived in the house a while you'll know what will suit how you use it.

No rain here yet....did read on a long term weather forecast earlier that they're expecting snow in the north in September and frosts for the rest of us

  • DFS carries sofas made by several differnt companies-depending on WHAT sofa you buy depends on the build etc. I insist persoanlly on British made, and they will be able to tell you which ones are and aren't. Ask filled for one with a hardwood frame...I have had feather and foam sofas and personally, I prefer foam seats because there is less maintainance.

(Rememeber, I have sold sofas as well ;))

  • I had a feather pillow backed settee and it was the BIGGEST pain in the arris-we needed to constantly plump it up to make it look half decent.

Our current settee was bought off eBay and is a REALLY good name but not particularily comfy. I am sorry all, my ability to spell seems to have been broken today...
