Crohns Disease and Insurance

Hi
Anyone got any advice on insurance in general with Crohns disease.
I am newly diagnosed and wondering how/what people do for their insurance needs.
Travel insurance - i have read that some of the packaged bank account like Lloyds gold account £12.50 a month include travel insurance for Crohns, this seems quite good because for one single trip I have been quoted over £100 - Any one any experience in where is best to go?
Mortgage insurance - not quite sure which type of cover I need, but I would think life cover would be move appropriate than MPPI insururance, again anyone got any tips on what cover is needed and how best to go about it.
I dont think it will affect my actual mortgage application, but I need to get insurance to run along side it, so this may cause problems.

I've got ulverative colitis and i think all they've done is put an exclusion on my WOP if it is related to the condition. you will most likely be accpeted but with an exclusion.0

Hi,
What is WOP
What would be the point in getting insured by not being covered the the thing mostly likely to cause me trouble. can you not add crohns on for a higher rate?0 -
Hi I have crohn's and have always got travel insurance through Columbus Direct and they will cover me for any crohn's related problems whilst away. I have found them to offer the best cover at a good price (and believe me I have really looked around).
As for MPPI I have never been able to find any cover that will come into place for crohn's, don't think they exsist.
I have got life insurance with Direct Line (I do pay quite a lot for this) and that does cover all crohn's and related illnesses.0 -

I second Columbus. I used them recently for a daughter with vasculitis and another with DiGeorge syndrome. Direct line have insured them in the past but they wanted £265 for single trip to the West Indies but Columbus charged £137 for the 4 of us.0 -

waiver of premium. all insurers differ the way they view things: but pre-existing conditions nearly always come at a cost or exclusion.0
