Selling a car on "Gumtree"?
Comments
-
I don't know too much about gumtree, but if you use Autotrader and Ebay you are payong for visibility.
If you think gumtree can offer that and you have the car priced correctly (probably 10%-20% less than you think it is worth*) it might be worth trying for a bit.
* The trouble with most private sellers is they waste a lot of time asking for too much early on.0 -
Yes - its free and can't do any harm can it?
I put an ad on Gumtree at midday when selling my car and had a call half an hour later and sold it that night.0 -
Gumtree tends to be used for cheaper older cars.
95% of adverts are under 5k and with the majority being sub 3k.
Advantages are that its local and its free.
I would treat it the same as a paper classifieds advert and wouldnt print your email address.
If I was selling a car for sub 5k I would use it but wouldnt bother for anything more expensive.0 -
I put a car on gumtree and got zero calls, it went on ebay and sold for what we expected.Nothing to see here, move along.0

I have put cars on there, I have found a lot of time wasters - asking for a £500 car for £300 without even looking at it, and a lot scams asking to ship it to Jim's mate in Germany!
I have also on the same level though, bought cars on Gumtree.
I would use it, but be prepared for time wasters0
