Seller from China??

Hi,
The seller of 250013116724 is based in china, has lots of listings at prices that seem too good to be true (which in my experience means they are!!)
At this stage I was going to move on & muttering about overseas scams, ruining ebay, bring back national service etc etc
But.....he has good feedback, 300+ (mostly from china BUT with some from Europe and not the normal scamers 1p ebooks) and is paypal registered and the auction has paypal buyer protection which will more than cover it
Any thoughts?

Hi
Me and my partner also considered this, with a DVD boxset from China, feedback was excellent, paypal was offered, so we went ahead and bought.
Then we received a message saying that there paypal wasn't working. Okey dokey then. They can sing for there money, I replied stating we'd wait until it was working again.
I doubt we'll be hearing from him. I personally wouldn't take the risk, we were prepared to take the chance with paypal, but the minute we received that message the whole thing was a no go. I'd be looking for at least 99% feedback score, he's had a neg recently as well.0 -
They're often cheap prices with very high postage or compulsory insurance hidden in the small print. Having said that I have purchased some goods from the far east with no problems.0

Normally they are pretty good, but what you pay for is what you get, don't expect it to be any better then its described and it is normally possible to find cheaper elsewhere0

The particular tool is £130 in the UK…it sells for $100 in the states (about half price) and the china price is £30 (about half the US price)
Maybe it’s the standard “charge what the mug punters will pay” thing.
I buy a fair number of tools from the states and regard the price difference as a buying opportunity but I suppose that just as people in the states wouldn’t pay the prices we pay in the UK then people in china wouldn’t dream of paying the price in the States0 -
Update
Made the purchase...logged into paypal to pay, Paypal says “sellers email can’t accept foreign currency” even though the payment was in Chinese currency.
Checkout invoice arrived with bank transfer as the only option
Somehow I don’t think so but I’d be interested in any other thoughts on the Paypal situation0 -
I have bought from a few chinese sellers and have been able to use paypal. I got my products within 5 days which is better than most uk sellers and I was very impressed with the items.0

Please see the thread I started called Chinese listings, PayPal and the Yuan. The problem is that the Chinese Yuan (Renminbi) is not “fully convertibility”. Basically, the Chinese government places tight restrictions on the exchange of its currency.mikey-mike wrote:Made the purchase...logged into paypal to pay, Paypal says “sellers email can’t accept foreign currency” even though the payment was in Chinese currency.

I too have also made a couple of purchases fron the Far East and haven't had any problems. I do check their ratings and try to make sure that they have 100% before I decide to go ahead with the purchase.Little man arrived 13 Dec 20120
