Sports Direct Beware - do not rely on their staff to identify the right shoe size

Warning: don't rely on their staff to identify the correct shoe size - I identified the right shoe size in my local store but they did not stock the colour I wanted. I established another store did, made a 2 hr round trip to pick them up. Member of staff checked the size of trainers in front of me before I paid for them. Got home & despite requesting 6 1/2, found the trainers in the box were actually size 5s, discovered also their stock control people had wrongly re labelled the trainer box from size 5 to 61/2. All I have sought from SD is an exchange via my local store to secure the correct size as I am not prepared to do another 2 hour trip. SD CUSTOMER SERVICES HAVE ADMITTED THEY WERE AT FAULT - but will SD do this? No, because their stock control system is so rigid they cannot arrange for a specific pair of trainers to be delivered to a store. Only solution available is to return the trainers to local store (the other store dont answer their phones btw so you can't check what sizes they have in stock) get refund, order right size on line and either put my employers out by having the trainers delivered at work or take a days holiday and all because the member of staff did not appreciate a ladies 38 is size 5.

You are actually lucky they have agreed to a redund, SD are renowned for having awful customer service and not refunding.
