Supermarket delivery drivers, tip or no tip?

Don't tip except maybe christmas.
But I also have to say that we are lucky in Belfast anyway, all of the drivers have been good and some have been really lovely
have heard on other threads where people are saying delivery drivers are unhelpful but I've never had that! 0 -
It's not about being tight but my cash is hard earned so i don't hand it out willy nilly to every tom, !!!!!! & harry who smiles or carries out their job that they're paid to do... I detest American culture where it's expected to tip, i only hope it never gets like that over here.........
Oh loosen the grip on yer knickers, it's a light hearted thread. Americans tip because the service staff are severely underpaid, it isn't some sort of greedy expectation, it's how the system works. It's not the fault of the staff that the employers are taking the proverbial. The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -

No matter how much american workers are paid they still expect you to tip, it's their culture...

As an online shopper for Sainsbury's, I can confirm that our drivers (or any member of staff for that matter) are not allowed to accept gifts/tips/etc. of any kind.
If you've experienced great service by one of us, the best thing you can do is fill in a customer comment card next time you're in store, or call our customer service line. We have an internal scheme for rewarding good customer service
Hope this solves your dilemma!0 -

You lot never cease to amaze me. I'm going to have to stop drinking a cuppa in front of the lappy. It's borderline whether it can survive another spray of tea!
OK, as an online shopper can you tell me if Sainsburys are planning to do any deliveries outside of Belfast anytime soon? Us lot in the sticks are feeling left out!As an online shopper for Sainsbury's, I can confirm that our drivers (or any member of staff for that matter) are not allowed to accept gifts/tips/etc. of any kind.
