Incapacity Benefit Query

Hi
Hope someone can help me, I have been on IB for 18 months now as i was diagnosed with cancer and could not work etc.
I am now starting to feel a bit better and was thinking of maybe going to college in September, i am not quite ready to go back to work yet, but thought college would be an idea.
How do i go about this, do i just enrol at college myself and pay for my course or do i tell the IB people (not clued up on this, never claimed anything in my life before). Do i ring them to tell them to stop my money etc.
Thanks
Hope i am making sense.

Are you on IB or ESA? IB had stopped 18 months ago, was your claim linked to an earlier claim?

Are you in receipt of DLA?
    Gone ... or have I?

Does why you're not well enough contradict what your course involves?

    Hi
It is IB, it changed to ESA not long after i got it. I never got it for a while as i did not know i could claim, and as my illness was before October 2008, they gave me IB ?????
No, not on DLA, i was working before my illness and have never claimed before.

Luckygirl123 - firstly - glad to hear you are feeling so much better - may your health improve and secondly, if your were on IB you should have an advisor at your local job centre who can personally fill in forms/ask the questions etc etc if you wish to go on courses..I had this support offered to me when I was thinking of doing a course at a local college - I was feeling positive but totally overwhelmed at the whole process!
Perhaps a friend/family/partner could go with you for support. Again, wishing you well....
