Freeview

Thinking of buying a box for my wifes mum for christmas. Have checked the freeview website and she is definately covered. Is that all I need to worry about - I don't need to get her a special aerial as well do I?

Comments

  • She may need a new aerial as

    (a) Not all transmitters transmit Freeview at the moment
    (b) Some of the Freeview channels may be on frequencies which her existing aerial does not pick up satisfactorily.

Any idea what transmitter she uses?

It depends which frequencies are used for the new digital Mux's in your area compared to those used by the old analogue channels. Find out here and here. You may need a new aerial.
