You must have put something in the postage box, or it's been on the listing from when you have sold something before, mine remembers previous postage fees. Or they have added the fees themselves. Check the item listing. One day I might be more organised...........

Firstly you need to see how the £10 charge was added. There is a possibility that the buyer added it to the invoice themselves, in that case refund the £10 and refer them back to the auction and ask them when they wish to collect item.
However, if the £10 charge is actually on the auction anywhere there is a possibility that it was left from a previous auction you listed and was picked up this time as well. I have done that myself, listed something quickly and only after auction end noticed I hadn't either greyed out the post and packing box or added in the correct info. Templates are automatic, so unless you actually greyed out the post and packign box and listed it as collection only it will just show whatever p and p was there before.
If that is the case then you need to go back to your buyer and grovel, return his money and ask him whether he wishes to proceed or whether he wants you to release him from his obligation to buy.

if you definitely didn't list a price in the postage box (you have to remember to clear it to zero when listing item, otherwise it will still say the postage amount from your last auction), then the buyer could have added it on themselves. have you got the item #

IIRC there is an option at the time when you go to pay in ebay (and are then directed to Paypal etc) where as a buyer you can choose to add or deduct from the total.
E.g. if the seller has said they will do discounts OR you as buyer have the choice of differing postal charges i.e special delivery vs first class recorded. So that's why the option is there. In this case, if you didn't set it up with any sort of postage (which I'm assuming you didn't given what you've said above) then they would seem to have taken it upon themselves to decide they *would* like it delivered and how much they think it would cost.
I suggest that you wait to see what their reply is - after all, they can't force you to post it!
After that it may be time for the NPB route and get your fees back. The cells are my friends...<img>0 -
thanx for the replies....
i have checked the listing again, does not state anywhere as i can see that a postage charge is offered...
just says....Postage costs: Check item description and payment instructions or contact seller for details
but i'm sure when i listed it i checked the review and it said "collection in person"
the buyer only has a feeback score of 5, so wondering if he as added the postage himself...
so... if i refund the money after he replies, how do i get my fees back to relist? What goes around - comes around

Might actually be worth pulling the buyers details and giving him/her a call.
