Fruit plants
We have four fruit plants Raspberry redcurrant blackcurrant and gooseberry which we planted together. We have had a fair deal of raspberries but no fruit off any of the other plants. [They are all two years old now] We have been advised to move them further apart as they are all right next to each other. The question is when do we move them and how far do we prune them down for winter.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Best to move when dormant, say November to March
As you have had no fruit I would leave well alone as you seem to be unsure about pruning, and may just cut off next years fruit in error
The currants will crop without pruning, you may get better shaped bushes and fruit with pruning, but FWIW I would just leave them to settle in once you have moved them, then check on BBC or RHS web sites for pruning detailsWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
I would leave alone for now. 2yrs old depending on how big the plants were when you bought them, still might mean they are not quite ready to fruit.
redcurrants fruit on 2 yr old wood, so they should fruit next year.
my gooseberry plants I bought from aldi is in its third summer this year and this was its first year to fruit.
dunno about the blackcurrant. they fruit I think on new growth but cant remember off the top of my head.
can you post a picture?0 -
