Noisy PC

I have just noticed my PC is a bit noisy, I did not notice much noise before. It is only 9 months old and a Dell. It's just a constant humming. Should I be concerned. Thanks

Where is the noise coming from?

Take off the case and try to determine where it originates from. It may just be the fan.
  • my pc made a noise..... turned out to be a loose screw on my door. just like everything else in life it will eventufully get loose.

like moob said see if you can locate the noise and check everything is bolted down

Ususally suspects are fans, cases, and at the back those pci blanking plates that occasionally where loose form the screw (where your pci slots are) and tend to rattle on the case.
  • i would not touch your computer if its under the 12 month warranty still , if i were you i would contact dell , just to be on the safe side.

if its something that may be fixed while its still under the dell 12 month warranty i would get them to take a look , just incase you void your warranty.

    see you

Thanks, it seems OK now but from time to time makes that noise. I will contact Dell as I have taken three years warranty with them. No doubt, it will be a waste of time as they are hopeless. Thanks again.
