Warranty & repair question

DH collected his brand new Alfa Mito 3 weeks ago. It was raining, so he didn't get the chance to try out the sunroof other than on the tilt setting at the garage. After a couple of days, he couldn't get the sunroof to open properly so we went back to the garage.

The salesman fiddled with it then got one of the mechanics who also couldn't get it to open so DH agreed to drop the car back for a day and borrow a car from them. He did this and of course they couldn't solve the problem. DH refused to let them put all the roof panels inside back only to pull them out again this week so left the car there and has a courtesy car whilst they "order in the parts". Apparently it should be fixed tomorrow.

Now DH is concerned that in the paperwork he received with the car, it states that all repairs carried out under warranty are guaranteed for one year whereas the car has a 3 year warranty. Does this mean that the sunroof (assuming it is fixed tomorrow) will have the full 3 year cover as the car was not delivered as the specification described? Or does it mean that the sunroof only has a 1 year guarantee?

If anyone knows the relevant legislation, we would be most grateful. We're off to check up on Sale of Goods now, but many thanks in advance.

no it will be covered the same as rest of car for 3 years, not his fault it did not work and required repairs so why should he forefeit 2 years of warranty on it?
