Sainsburys Refund Policy

Options
Hi everyone!

Just wanted to know if anyone works for sainsburys or has knowledge of their refund policy. Basically, I went and bought hair dye, but foolishly never noticed they've updated all their packaging. I went and bought the wrong shade. If I return it, could I receive a refund? I'd settle for an exchange even for the right colour. I still have receipt, and obv. it's still sealed and everything.

Just thought I would ask as have never tried to return anything to a supermarket, so not sure what the different policies are on things like this.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Cant see there being any problem really.

I even took something back and they refunded me without a receipt.

    Go for it..................
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Just smile sheepishly and calmly ask for an exchange. If you have the receipt you could ask for a refund.

One thing not to do is go in shouting 'I know my human sale of rights for goods and am a big shot on a very influential consumer forum and I will own sue your manager's !!! if you don't give me an extra fiver in compensation.'

Yeah, you'll be fine; common practice for supermarkets to exchange/refund purchases if unused and you have proof of purchase.
  • Thanks guys!

I'll definately just give it a try, the worst they can do is say no. it was my mistake in the first place so I understand it's not their fault. And no I definately won't go in all guns blazing, I hate people like that, although they are quite funny to watch in action lol. If it's a no it's a no, even just an exchange will do me. I might as well try my luck. Thanks again for the help! x
