Sainsburys Refund Policy

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to know if anyone works for sainsburys or has knowledge of their refund policy. Basically, I went and bought hair dye, but foolishly never noticed they've updated all their packaging. I went and bought the wrong shade. If I return it, could I receive a refund? I'd settle for an exchange even for the right colour. I still have receipt, and obv. it's still sealed and everything.
Just thought I would ask as have never tried to return anything to a supermarket, so not sure what the different policies are on things like this.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Cant see there being any problem really.
I even took something back and they refunded me without a receipt.
Go for it..................make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Just smile sheepishly and calmly ask for an exchange. If you have the receipt you could ask for a refund.
One thing not to do is go in shouting 'I know my human sale of rights for goods and am a big shot on a very influential consumer forum and I will own sue your manager's !!! if you don't give me an extra fiver in compensation.'0 -
Yeah, you'll be fine; common practice for supermarkets to exchange/refund purchases if unused and you have proof of purchase.0

Thanks guys!
I'll definately just give it a try, the worst they can do is say no. it was my mistake in the first place so I understand it's not their fault. And no I definately won't go in all guns blazing, I hate people like that, although they are quite funny to watch in action lol. If it's a no it's a no, even just an exchange will do me. I might as well try my luck. Thanks again for the help! x0 -
yeah if unopened and have receipt they should give exchange, you might get a refund but at their discreation:A VK :A0
