Anyone had any experience with a good, honest and reliable Volkswagen garage in the Petersfield/Portsmouth area. Need to get my VW Gold serviced and MOT'd.

thanks

Not sure if its too far away but try winchester skoda.
They used to be the authorised VW dealer and all their techs are VW trained so you get VW servicing at Skoda prices.

Good bunch of guys there as well.
  • If you don't mind travelling to Eastleigh I have used these a number of times for my Audi (including a cambelt service) and have nothing but praise for a professional company

    http://www.independentvwservicing.co.uk/

and no, I don't work for them, or have any other vested interest.

An alternative is http://www.independentgarageservices.co.uk/ who I used once but can't remember what the service was like as it was a long time ago but I don't believe it was bad either.

    Hope this helps.
  • I frequent a few VW forums... These came up as maybe worth a call

Thanks for the recommendation and I did contact them for a quote. Unfortunately, they turned out to be £40.00 more expensive than the local VW main dealers (Coopers and White Rose) - who very suspiciously charge exactly the same price for a combined MOT and oil-change service!).
I get a distinct feeling that VW dealers in the south operate a cartel in which all dealers offer the same services for exactly the same price even though they are supposed to be independent businesses.

Anyway - thanks again for your help.
