My laptop is now a few months old and it's starting to get a few niggles. The odd app freezes for a minute or so before startng to work again, also getting occasional windows error messages.

Also, sometimes, not sure why, my IE, Word and similar apps seem to turn into old versions of themselves. It's hard to explain, but the menu's become grey and it just looks odd. Not sure if these problems are related.

No expert but probably AVG causing the delays as it is a hog.

Also you have a lot of things auto starting such as SQL manager - you could prune these down a bit for a more responsive system and only start them when you need them. personal choice though.

I'm unsure as to what could be causing the issue you're having, but there is one item you can safely delete on hijack this.

Place a tick next to the record of:

The rest of the log appears to be clean to me.

Though there are some unnecessary services that may be running on startup, you can solve this by typing msconfig in the run bar and unticking some of the services in the list - such as: jusched.exe, ituneshelper.exe, sqlmanager, adobe reader, quicktime task.

If you could describe your problem further and in more detail it would be more beneficial.

NB: The HJT version you are using is outdated. Also ensure you have the latest updates from windows updates.
