Could be a good day out!

Crich Tramway Village is pleased to announce that it will be offering FREE entry to serving British Armed Forces personnel and their partners (Dosen't mention anything about Kids but it might be worth giving them a ring to see) at its 1940s Weekend on 14th and 15th August this year.
The weekend event is one of the biggest in the calendar at Crich and this year will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Visitors will be able to see an RAF base, replica Spitfire and by kind permission of the Battle of Britain Historical Society, the tram shelter at Wakebridge will be turned into a memorial displaying a Roll of Honour of the 2,936 British and Allied airmen who took part in the Battle of Britain between 10th July and 31st October 1940. There will also be a flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight on Saturday 14th August.
Wartime songs will be belted out by an authentic E.N.S.A. concert party throughout the weekend. The Red Lion public house and Rita’s Tea Rooms will be serving food and drink. But don’t expect an exotic menu…..there is a war on, you know!
