how to hurry up a claim

My boyfriend was knocked off his motorbike last july by a car driver who didn't see him. he is making a personal injury claim but everything is moving very slowly. Apparently the other insurers are dragging their feet and saying they've not received anything (which might be believable once but they've been saying this on a few occasions for a year now.) Is there any way we can get them to hurry up as we are now very poor, we've not even had the money for the bike yet (was a write off). He has lost his job and is waiting for several operations. Thanks

These things take a long time to be settled (when PI is involved , years rather than months is not unusual)
If liability has been agreed, ask your solicitor to get an interim payment for you.0 -

as far as I know liability is ok - the driver was prosecuted for driving without due care and attention, and there was also a witness who said it was her fault. The solicitor is trying to get an interim payment but is struggling as they are denying receiving any paperwork.0 -
In that case make regular calls to your solicitor to urge them to progress the interim payment. If they are denying receiving paperwork from your solicitor, the solution for your solicitor is simple enough!0
