Scandalous parking charges - can you help with some advice?

Hi there,

I'm hoping one of you will be able to help with a bit of advice on my situation! It looks pretty bad and I need to resolve it by tomorrow...

I received a letter today from JBW Group Bailiffs, claiming I owe £355 on an outstanding PCN ticket from London Borough of Islington Council, issued in 2008.

I moved out of London over a year ago and this is the first notice I've had from this company sent to my current address in Sheffield.

I called them up and it turns out I owe approx £800 on 3 separate parking charges. £300 of this is the parking charge amount and the rest is JBW Group's fees.

They are threatening to come to my house to remove my car tomorrow. I asked on what authority they were going to enter my private property, and they said they have a court warrant.

I have not even been notified to my home (car registered) address of a court warrant, or even notified of the other tickets they are claiming.

So yes, I do owe money on parking tickets. But the amount has gone from £300 to £800 without me even being notified. And they are now threatening to come and remove my car if I don't pay.

They have said that I can arrange to pay over 3 months if that would suit me.

I need to call them tomorrow to fix this - can you advise me on the best course of action? Do I have to pay the full amount and comply? Are they allowed to come and remove my car?

Get onto pepipoo.com soonest. They have a wide range of people who can help. You will need to get all three pcn's and nto's and get the bailiffs off your back. someone will soon be able to help as I don't know enough to proprerly advise.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • Awesome link peter_the_piper - thanks a lot! I'm going to post the question on there now - see if they can help.

If anyone has any other advice though - please do divulge it here. I'll share any other feedback I get on here.
