Though you missed the "thanks for paying my mortgage you prole' line.
And that's the best line too.... tut.... very disappointed GD.
Never mind, I'll console myself at the beer festival tonight with the beer that my tenant has afforded me.0 -
Won't you come on in. (best elvis voice)
No thanks.
Try this for size. I reckon it should be the theme tune for this part of the forum.

You're not new. You've just realised HPC is boring what with everyone all agreeing with each other. Welcome to MSE.
Oh yes. I did visit once or twice, but not this part of the forum. I was reading tales of debt and paying mortgages off early and stuff.
I only came here because someone "over there" pointed out something that Sibley or Hamish had posted here. I must admit, I quite like it here. I`ve had one or two minor skirmishes, but have come out unscathed (so far). I reckon I`m doing OK for a newbie. Chucky seems to be my nemesis at the moment, but I reckon I`ve stood my ground, and am winning that particular "battle".
I`d better get ready for the next assault, he can`t be far away.
Sadly I do have to go out and do some work. It will look like I`m dodging a punch up with said chucky, but I have no second/third property to rent out, so i still have to do..... you know..... work.
Oh dear. What have I done ?
I won`t mention anything about savings, even if I had some, which I don`t. The mocking would be terrible. I mean, what a stupid thing to do, save money and not spend it on property. I dunno, some people, eh ?30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -
Phew !
chucky has gone. I really was worried there. I`ll be back later to see if he has bothered to backtrack on his backtracking accusation. :eek:30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -
Just for the record (my first response).......
If that`s backtracking, I`m sorry.
But it`s not, is it ?
Having re-read your initial post, it appears you did initally say "not in all cases" which I must admit I didn't recall when you did decide to debate and started off with "not in all cases" appeared to be a backtrack.
Upon reflection I agree, you did not back track.
You also now seem to be in general agreement with my original statement:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

What`s yours, btw ?
I'm Mr Muddle, confused of Devon.
Though if I have made a really good point in debate...otherwise known as "cr*p, can't really argue that" you may see me referred to as Gayum.
Nice to meet you
I'm not sure about leaders. Though there does appear to have been a self selected panel of advisors telling you what you actually think and what you actually meant. Can't argue it though, as then your back to Mr Muddle.0 -

Interest-only loans are increasingly difficult to find as lenders tighten criteria ahead of a crackdown by the City regulator.
More than a million homeowners with no loan repayment plan were sold interest-only mortgages between 2005 and 2009, according to the FSA.
The regulator is worried these borrowers are sitting on a mortgage time bomb, due to explode between 2024 and 2033, unless they devise a way to repay the capital.
FACT - That's a lorra, lorra peeps with no means to repay the capital while permanent work dries up, businesses close and the public sector lays-off 800,000. Could be some very attractive houses being sold at fire-sale prices soon!
What will happen to all the public sector workers who will be losing their jobs, and anyone else losing their jobs because of the crisis. Will they government still pay the interest on their mortgage?
If its not an interest only mortg how does work?0 -
you see ISTL - in "all cases" and then claiming "not in all cases" is perceived as back tracking. Dervprof may not think so but it is...IveSeenTheLight wrote: »but is it perceived that you back tracked because you said you would debate against my statement and when you did it was a "not in all cases" opening.
back tracking is different to changing your mind though.IveSeenTheLight wrote: »That for me is back tracking (I've no problem with it) and it shows someone in a sense open to looking at the points raised instead of keeping their eyes closed and ignoring the points made.
both are totally fine and should be encouraged.
denying they were back tracking is a differert matter though...0
