The email I fired off basically said unless they are writing to tell me that they have closed the file then they are not to write to me again.
If I had run the debt up then I wouldn't have disputed it at all and would have paid and closed the account, but I'm at the 5 year stage now, so will fight if for longer if I have to.
Equaliser123, if you had £200-£300 incurred on your credit card that wasn't you, are you telling me you'd just pay it anyway? I argued and fought with Crapital One for 12 months over it, and they stated it was me! (How I can make a cash withdrawal in Poland when I didn't even have a UK passport is beyond me, but hey) - they still refused to budge, so I cancelled my Direct Debit and wrote them a letter basically telling them to insert their credit card sideways.
So, forgive me, but I'm willing to tell Lowell to shove it sideways too if I can.
OK but that is the first time in all these threads that you have actually said what the issue is. I;ve never said that you should give up on your dispute.
Looking for a technicality is not the way out. Frankly, it makes you look guilty. defend it properly.
Totally agree that you shouldn't pay. But there are means and ways.0 -
where did the amounts on the cards come from.... the dca side could put it on another ref number or even use red debt collection (their own). If it went to court a judge wouldnt take to kindley to your actions.0

Please explain?I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
Lowell are the biggest scumbags around, DONT under any circumstance bow down to them or the idiot sat on the next desk posing as Red Debt. Bearing in mind that the aforementioned debt is now 4 years old a court wouldn't take kindly to the ATTEMPTING to pursue an old DISPUTED debt
Have you checked your credit files?
Is a default registered?
Post back with further info should you get any futher hassle following on from your e-mail.
Good luck with it
