Christmas shopping - beware

A lot of people have started shopping for Xmas (me included).
During a visit to local Tesco I noticed Xmas mince pies with BBdate of 14th October 2006.
Dropped Tesco an e-mail and simply got a "thanks for your comment" response.
Suggest you all check the BB date of Tesco Xmas products if you don't want to be disappointed on the day!

Whatever do they put in them to make them last over a month?0

I personally wouldn't expect mince pies bought now to still be in date at Christmas unless they were suitable for freezing and you froze them after purchase.
Definitely check those labels though.0 -
Ewww-shop bought mince pies. Make your own, they taste loads beter, aren't full of preservatives and you know whats in them. Plus you can keep the left over mince-meat for about a year- which makes it taste better:D0

This time last year I was a catering manager and had 200 3 course crimbo meals to prepare every day. (Jumps round the room in joy as she remembers she doesn't have to do that anymore)
We had some mince pies delivered from our usual supllier, prepackaged ones with a date of october this year!!!! Tesco are probably just flogging ones that were from last year.
I very quickly went to our local independent baker for the mince pies. They were about 1p each more expensive, but way nicer, and delivered fresh every day.Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

Thanks for the tip.
Sorry about the clever !!!! attitude of some other posters on here but I am afraid that some people believe they own the site.
I am sure they once ventured out but kept getting punched.
I would have expected mince pies to last till christmas and the fact that you went out of your way to give other people the heads up is highly commendable.
Unfortunately there are others on here who regard your effort as a licence to be sarcastic, pathetic and mean.S!!!!horpe0 -
