After I entered this comp I received a telephone call - not selling me anything merely asking whether I had entered through this site?

Has anyone else had any contact from them? :eek:

Unfortunately they caught me 'on the hop' and asked outright if I had entered through the MSE site - I couldn't lie to an outright question so said yes. There didn't seem to be a problem and they said they would be in touch if I were the winner.

After reading jeanmd's post below I should also have said that the gentleman who called was very polite.

There isnt a comeback from it - a telephone call is to make sure you are genuinely entering the competition and not someone from a rival company and to boost traffic throught their website etc etc. Its a good competition you have nothing to worry about!! Good luck!

They asked me if I worked in currencies (no) and who told me about the comp.
Makes me wonder if they're discarding entries from people who aren't from the financial sector......

Plus there's nothing in the Ts and Cs to stop people from rival firms entering, so I'm not sure I understand Ceebs84's comments on why they are phoning us.....

No Im sure there is nothing to stop rival firms entering the competition - I just meant that the phonecall is most likely to make sure you are actually entering the competition and that at some point you may be interested in visiting their website again to get information on curreny etc rather than a rival company going to the website for an alternative purpose?

Asking you where you found out about the competition will be for their information - to see where the most effective marketing is happening.

I missed a call from them on my mobile this morning and then they sent me an email:

"I tried to contact you earlier however unfortunately I was unable to get through.

If you could call me back when you get this message regarding your competition entry that would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to speaking with you soon."
