I'm sorry but it really is a dump. Worst place I have EVER stayed! We only stayed one night and couldn't wait to leave, it was really depressing too .0

Thanks for the replies, one more question. You get 'digital tv' in club, what about in Budget now the switchover has happened? We will probably be back in the chalet early due to kids ages so tv would be nice!If google doesn't know it, how should i?0

You will get a black and white TV with a betamax machine and a load of tapes0

Lol i know that a 'colour tv' is provided,i've been before 7 years ago but that was analogue tv! The only mention of digital is in the club chalets, I was thinking of taking our playstation 2 along but there was no scart connections last time and i am assuming its the same tv sets, all screwed down and all lol
I'm not expecting the world just wanted take the kids on a holiday! If google doesn't know it, how should i?0 -
I dunno depends if they have had the switchover there i guess, if they have then they must be digital
EDIT: Saying that they might restrict channels, i know when i went they had a Pontins TV channel so they must have control on what you can watch, and the Digital i had in club was via the coax cable on a normal TV0 -
Oh dear, i bet it's just 'pontins tv' then, unless we go club! because that is one of the luxuries along with a microwave and patio doors that you pay over 100 pound more for! ah well! I am purely going for the kids sake but as i said before last time was off season and quite boring as my mum and nan wanted to stay in the chalet watching tv all the time instead of going into Southport itself, we just went to the club at night and that was it.If google doesn't know it, how should i?0

Hi,
You do get the basic channels when staying in budget - ITV, BBC1 & channel 5, not forgetting Pontins TV of course!0 -

I am planning our first family holiday for me,hubby and our 4 kids under 7. Southport is local enough to get to by bus as we have no transport (20 miles ish-although i'm thinking of getting a minibus) Not many options avaiable for us, i thought maybe a holiday apartment in Blackpool but there's not so much at night to do with the kids besides arcades or staying in bored!
Purely for the kids, but the reviews online are scary. Has anything changed on site and what is it like in season for little ones (7,3,2 and 1) I will be paying full price not a sun offer but for under £250 for 3 nights. I know the accomodation is not 100% but hopefully just going to be using the chalet as a base but what are the facilities like there now? the kids play area was just a play kitchen and a few other toys last time, no ball pool that i remember, and 1 bar was closed!
Thanks in advance!

Thank you very much Lynn44, sadly i have only just got back online after a computer problem so didn't see your message
On a positive note though, taking on board other's advice we had a marvellous time at Southport Pontins and i would return (In summer anyway - saturday and sunday were really hot & dry days so made the holiday even better!) :jIf google doesn't know it, how should i?0
