claiming through a ppi company

I have decided to claim back accident and employment insurance I am positive I was mislead into taking out on a loan with what was then trading as The Houshold Bank (part of the hsbc group).
I was contacted by them in november 2003, I had never even heard of them and they had all my debters details, credit cards, loans etc etc.
I was invited to go into my local branch to discuss consolidation of all of the above debts I had with other companies and was told would cost me less than i was currently paying out and end up with money from the loan left over in my pocket.
I went along and ended up with a loan for £12k and insurance added to the loan that didnt even last the term of the loan.

My question is simple. Who can I use that is trustworthy and wont end up with 1/2 the return if any to claim back my money?

    Hi Dave

As Karl says, have a go yourself with help from this site.
Its pretty straight forward and you get to keep all your money.
You do not need to use a claims company, when this can all be done free apart from the posting through your post office.

1 Questionnaire - these were issued by the financial ombudsman service (FOS), so complete this and send to whoever mis sold/set up your policy from the start.

    2. Keep a copy, this is recommended by the Financial ombudsmsn service in case you need to refer to it later on.

    3. They have 8 weeks in full to respond - they may ask for more time, this is fine, or they may ask for more information.

    4. When you receive the decision, if your not happy, this is where they should let you know if you write back, or they will give you the opportunity to complain to the FOS, and enclose details/leaflet on how to complain to the FOS.

Martin's link below if the guidelines of reclaiming, follow this, and below the page is the FOS questionnaire (Stage one) - which is in replacement of the first reclaiming template letter, so you use this to complete and send to whoever is responsible.

There is no such thing. Do it yourself otherwise you will pay them anything between 25-33% plus VAT. It is easy with the help on the site. Good Luck
