wifi and ethernet on virgin media

Hi is it possible to connect my pc via an ethernet cable and also connect my laptop/wii/mobile phone using wifi at the same time on virgin media ?
my modem has only one cable socket which I either plug into my pc or wifi, is there a way to connect both at the same time ?
thanks

Only one connection for ethernet cable is a little unusual normally they have 4 at least.
What is the make and model of the modem you have and are you adsl or cable? then will be better placed to answer query
  • you will of course need another ethernet cable :)
    Friendly greeting!

Hi, think I might of sorted it out, I'm on virgin cable, I have an ethernet cable from my modem to my wifi (tp-link), there are 4 outlets in the back of that so i'm going to plug an ethernet from there into my pc and then try out the wifi.
can I plug more than one ethernet cable in the back of the wifi so I can use 2 pc's ?
I have just been running an ethernet from the modem to my pc but now need to use the wifi as well,
    thanks

If you're on Virgin Cable you'll have a modem with one ethernet connection. You then connect that via ethernet to a wireless router (sounds like that is what your tp-link is). That will then give you WiFi capabaility and normally four thernet ports. You can connect a PC to each of those ethernet ports and other devices by WiFi without any problem.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
