Gift ideas for newly pregnant friend please

Evening all,

My best friend is pregnant and my mind is blank on ideas - help!

She has passed the 3 months phase and can now share her news...

All ideas very welcome - for the Mum that is, not for the baby...his/her pressies will come later!

The whole two ideas I have rattling round my empty head are:-

(1) Pretty notebook, to record the pregnancy and also because it seems most expectant Mums I've known experienced the 'forgetfulness' side effect!

(2) Creams/lotions/potions for her to treat her body and bump.

Neither seem very original though...

Oh and I'm seeing her this weekend, so might need to be shop bought, rather than handmade unless super quick and easy..!!

Thanks so much :)

    Hello,

Love the notebook idea - will be nice for your friend to keep a journal of the pregnancy.

    How about:
    • Books (on pregnancy or any genre your friend likes) I personally love sitting down with a good book to read!
    • Pregnancy pillow
    • Face mask / bath bombs
    • Armotherapy oil with burner
    • Lovely PJs for the hospital
    • one of those elastic belt things that lets pregnant women continue to wear their jeans/trousers when their bumps get bigger

I second the notebook idea - if you search on Amazon for baby books there are loads of examples (I think WHSmiths also stock this kind of thing). They have spaces for the pre-natal scans, the hospital tag, space for handprints/footprints etc and often cover the first year of the baby's life so allows them to keep all those precious things in one place. My mum still has mine and my sister's books at home that she likes to drag out on embarrassing occasions (and I'm approaching 30 :o)
  • what about a foot spa? when shes pregnant her feet will hurt alot lol x

i think it depends on your friend but if she likes pamper type things a pamper day would be good esp. nearer the birth.

    Baby books are good.
