I brought a van a few months ago, and the seller has told me he sent the logbook off to the dvla. Ive still never had it back, ive text him he says he sent it so hes done his bit, what can i do I havnt got his address or surname as it was so long ago. How can i prove its mine other than I have the van and all its service history?

Contact DVLA
They will write to the current registered keeper, asking him if he has sold it, once he comfirm's or doesn't reply to the letter even, they will allow you to register the van in your name0 -

You need to apply on a V62 form for a logbook:
