WE seem to have a few stickies on this board that are getting a bit out of date and actually they aren't really read as you regulars are more than happy to answer questions from individuals when they are posted.
Just as a thought do you want me to unstick them now, or do any of them have a real use anymore?
For instance the scam one, I'm not sure we need to be reminded of the hundreds of spam emails we get every week, but newbies getting one for the first time tend to just ask on a new thread anyway, and that's probably the better option. What about the car boot one, do we need that or do we need to start again or just answer questions on an ad hoc basis, or maybe even unstick it but bookmark it if anyone does want to ask a question?

Maybe a 'suck it and see' attitude? Let's see what happens. I think a short sticky re echeques, INR and SNAD and the differences between tracking, not tracking and CoP may be prudent, along with the differences on recorded and special delivery. They are imho the most frequent and obvious questions.0

Well I could start a new 'tips and useful links' sticky and get people to add useful things to it?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'd say maybe the fake emails one is important for those who don't post with their own just so they can see if it looks like one of the ones already posted, especially as it contains general tips as well.
Apart from that I don't really know. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. This is my opinion. The difficulty with this forum (not just the ebay one, the whole of MSE) is that it's massive. It's really hard to find anything - even via the searches. So it's often easier to just ask the question in the forum. As of 24/11/2020

I'd rather see stickies with loads of info in the say first two pages and then locked so that no one can add more stuff. It sees to me that if a stickie runs to 11 pages (Like the car boot one does) that a lot of the posts aren't really that helpful and should have been asked as separate posts (of the moment, if you see what I mean ?).
Maybe if post one was an index to the following two pages of relevant posts on a locked thread then info would be easy to find and easy to update.0

I consider myself quite tech 'savvy' and I still have a bit of difficulty conducting searches thanks to both our wonderfully varied language and, as Mirko points out, the vastness of these forums.
New comers to forums often don't quite get what's meant by the term 'stickie' so perhaps wouldn't think to click on the link. How about having a thread titled something like 'ebay scams: frequently asked questions' etc in place of the stickies. These could be cut so the drivel and flirty messages are removed so it's purely informative.

The word sticky is added automatically, the titles otherwise can be whatever we want them to be.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
