    I used to do this regularly but the RAC now have a No claim Bonus which complicates the matter. This dual pricing for old and new customers has been in for a few years

    have you tried asking your insurance company if they can provide cheap rates with one of the roadside recovery companies. When I took out my car insurance I got recovery with the AA for a lot less than if I had gone to them direct. Maybe worth a try.
